My 2D animation
Process

Rough animation
In the exciting world of 2D animation in Toon Boom Harmony, my first step is "rough animation" or "tie down." Here, I start with rough and simple strokes, where I design the basic movements and key poses of the characters or objects in the scene. I use my digital pencil and graphics tablet to create these initial sketches. It's an exciting moment where the magic of animation takes shape, setting the pace and the overall action of the scene.
Cleanup
Once satisfied with the rough, I move on to the "cleanup" stage. Here, the animation comes to life with defined and polished lines. My goal is to trace over the rough sketches, removing any irregularities in the strokes to create smooth and consistent lines. Maintaining consistency in character and object design is crucial at this stage. It's like polishing a gem to make it shine with brilliance.

Coloring
With the animation clean and ready, it's time to add color. In Toon Boom Harmony, I use color layers to bring characters and backgrounds to life. Each choice of color and shading is crucial to add depth and life to the animation. Color layers are carefully organized, and I apply painting and shading techniques to give texture and realism to the elements. This stage adds a new level of visual richness.

Composition
Finally, we arrive at composition. Here, I bring all the puzzle pieces together: animation layers, color, and special effects. I add backgrounds, visual effects, music, and sound to create the final scene. This phase is crucial to give coherence to the narrative and present the animation effectively. It's like putting the icing on the cake, bringing all the elements together so that the animation is a complete masterpiece, ready to be shared with the world.
